Intermediate Application Analyst, Python or Java developer profile, listed derivatives, major bank, Montreal or Toronto (hybrid)

Abbeal is looking for an intermediate application analyst with a genuine developer background to join the listed derivatives IT team of a major Canadian bank.

The role

• Support, configure, develop and evolve the listed derivatives team's applications
• Build and maintain integrations between internal and external systems
• Set up application monitoring, automation and regression testing
• Provide production support: incident management and root cause analysis
• Document in Confluence and track work in Jira

What we expect

• Degree in computer science or equivalent
• 3 to 5 years in application analysis, software development or application support
• Python and/or Java, SQL
• REST APIs and integration, Git and GitHub
• AWS fundamentals (Cloud Practitioner level) and automated testing principles
• Fluent English required, French is a plus

Nice to have

• Capital markets knowledge, futures and options
• Experience with a listed derivatives trading platform
• CI/CD, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes or EKS, Kafka
• JavaScript or TypeScript with React, Next.js or Angular

Terms

• Location: Montreal or Toronto, 2 days a week in the office
• Duration: 12 months
• Status: independent contractor or employee, depending on your situation
