Avionics Engineer — Specification + V&V Flight Controls (DO-178C) — Aichi (Japan)

Location requirement

You must already be living in Japan with valid work authorization. We are not sponsoring relocation or visa transfers from overseas for this role. Applications from outside Japan will not be considered.

Background

The client is developing a passenger eVTOL (flying car), around 250 people, undergoing JCAB / FAA certification. You own the avionics specification and V&V of the Flight Controls, in a catastrophic-failure-level safety-critical environment. Based in Aichi (Toyota City), full on-site. Several openings. Long mission: 6 months minimum, likely extended to 12-24 months. Freelance or permanent (CDI).

Mission

• Hands-on flight control laws (MATLAB/Simulink models) and their V&V
• Avionics + Flight Controls specification
• V&V Flight Controls in safety-critical environment
• Coordination with the systems team and the FCS supplier
• DO-178C Level A & B compliance (+ DO-254, ARP4754A)

Profile

• Currently based in Japan with valid work authorization — no relocation or visa sponsorship from overseas for this role
• Senior DO-178C A/B in civil aviation (8+ years)
• Hands-on flight control laws / model-based design (MATLAB/Simulink) + V&V (traceability, structural coverage, iron-bird benches / FCS rig / fixed-base simulator)
• English mandatory, Japanese not required
• European profile to relocate: Mobbeal unit available for visa
