Abbeal is hiring an expert software designer for a major Canadian bank in Montreal. An end-to-end design role at the crossroads of architecture, cloud and AI.

Context

Our client, a major Canadian bank, is modernizing its platforms around cloud native, DevSecOps and AI. You join the design teams at the heart of this transformation.

The role

Your main responsibilities:

  • Design end-to-end technical solutions aligned with business goals and enterprise architecture
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, platforms and tools: scalable, secure, standards-compliant solutions
  • Integrate AI capabilities where relevant: automation, decision support, process optimization
  • Apply modern integration patterns: API, microservices, serverless, decoupled architecture
  • Practice Domain Driven Design and composable architecture
  • Design cloud-native or hybrid solutions on AWS: EKS, serverless, RDS, DynamoDB, S3
  • Act as a trusted advisor: influence technology direction, promote cloud native, DevSecOps and AI-driven practices, mentor developers

What we are looking for

  • Proven expertise in software design and solution architecture
  • Strong command of AWS and microservices, API and serverless architectures
  • Hands-on Domain Driven Design experience
  • Nice to have: experience using AI in the development cycle and for generating architecture artifacts
  • English is an asset

Practical details

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Montreal, hybrid: 2 days a week on site
