Abbeal is hiring a Senior AI Developer (Senior AI Engineer) for a fast-growing Montreal AI startup. Permanent position, direct hire by the client.

Our client is a fast-growing Montreal AI startup. Its product is already embraced by its customers, and the team is now launching a new project that aims to revolutionize the legal sector as a whole.

The role

• Design the architecture of the new project's AI agents and keep it evolving.
• Deliver end to end, from the API to the database, in production and for real users.
• Make results reliable by measuring performance, testing, and making sure every change keeps things working.
• Raise the team's bar: code reviews, best practices, mentoring more junior profiles.
• Take part in technical and product decisions with the founders.

• Python and TypeScript
• Google ADK (Agent Development Kit)
• Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL) on Google Cloud
• LLMs, Docker, CI/CD

What we're looking for

• At least 5 years of development experience, including several AI projects.
• You've already shipped AI agents or LLM applications to production and kept them running over time.
• Strong software engineering foundations: architecture, code quality, performance.
• You know how to evaluate an LLM system and make it reliable.
• You enjoy sharing knowledge and naturally take the lead on technical topics.
• You speak French and English.
