Lead Product Designer, AI health mobile app, Montreal

A Montreal startup is building a consumer iOS app for AI-powered health and wellness. Instead of a generic AI that averages the internet, users tap into the actual judgment of real domain experts. The founding team is hiring its Lead Product Designer.

The role

• Own the iOS app design end to end, from launch through long-term engagement
• Build and maintain the design system: color, typography, spacing, components, usage rules
• Work hand in hand with engineering while shipping: clear specs, quality reviews
• Own the brand's visual identity across every surface
• Present and defend design decisions to the founders, then iterate

What we're looking for

• You have shipped consumer mobile products with real usage behind them
• You have built or substantially owned a design system, documentation included
• You are hands-on: you would rather do the work than manage a team
• Direct critique doesn't throw you, you can make your case
• You use AI tools in your practice without compromising on craft

What success looks like

• App improvements actually shipped to production
• A documented design system that gets adopted
• Measurable gains in acquisition, activation and retention
