Senior Backend Engineer (Python / FastAPI) — Legal-Tech AI — Paris

The context

A French legal-tech is building an AI agent — already in production — for notaries and real-estate professionals: deeds of sale, estates, powers of attorney, emails, meeting notes. The goal: turn it into a real domain copilot. You build the backend foundation of this platform, in Python / FastAPI, on a hybrid Google Cloud and Azure setup.

The role

• Design, build and scale the backend platform and the internal APIs that power the AI agent, in Python / FastAPI.
• Set up and harden document ingestion: pipelines, parsing, data extraction and structuring.
• Build integrations with third-party systems (internal and external APIs) and the agent's autonomous triggers (incoming email, new document, cron).
• Ensure the robustness, performance and security of a fast-growing platform.
• Work hand in hand with product and the AI team to turn business needs into solid backend services.

The stack

• Backend: Python / FastAPI.
• Hybrid cloud: Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure.
• Internal APIs, external integrations, document ingestion, automations and autonomous triggers.

About you

• Confirmed senior experience in Python backend development, comfortable with systems at scale.
• Strong in Python / FastAPI, or able to switch fast if you come from another Python framework.
• Ideally from a high-growth startup or scale-up: speed, autonomy, fast-execution culture. Your playground is the scale-up more than the large corporation.
• Comfortable with at least one major cloud (GCP and/or Azure), in a hybrid context.
• A taste for data, document ingestion and system integrations.
