Senior Software Engineer — Foundation / Infrastructure (Rust · Go · Scala) — Paris

Context

We are supporting a major European e-commerce player whose entire infrastructure is built in-house rather than bought off the shelf. Two products define the scope: a homegrown private cloud (compute, storage, DNS, certificates, load balancing) fully exposed through APIs, with its own Terraform provider and CLI consumed by product teams; and an internal GenAI orchestrator, the single layer every AI use case in the company goes through (model provider integrations, routing, usage metering, streaming).

The role

You join the Foundation / Infrastructure team in Paris and work across both products. You design and build infrastructure services used daily by internal teams, in Rust, Go and Scala. You work side by side with SREs, DevOps engineers and the Product Owner. On-call, incident response and war rooms are part of the job: this is production at scale, with real consequences.

What we are looking for

• 5+ years working on large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong command of at least one of the three languages in scope (Rust, Go, Scala), and appetite for the other two.
• Fault tolerance and observability treated as engineering problems in their own right, not checkboxes.
• Experience building internal platforms consumed by other teams (APIs, Terraform provider, CLI).
• Daily use of AI coding agents in your engineering practice.
• Comfortable with on-call duty and production incident management.
