A Japanese urban air mobility company (passenger eVTOL) is developing its aircraft in Aichi, near Nagoya, with type certification underway. Abbeal supports its structural and systems engineering hiring.
Context
You join an engineering team building an electric vertical take-off aircraft for passenger transport. The mission: ensure structural integrity, impact resistance and performance of a mostly composite airframe.
The role
- Lead detailed structural analyses of complex eVTOL components (CFRP and metallic)
- Evaluate stress, strain and deformation under static, dynamic, vibratory and thermal loads
- Plan and execute analysis and test strategies (structural assurance)
- Produce certification documentation (EASA SC-VTOL, FAA Part 23/27)
Your profile
- 5+ years of structural analysis in aerospace (aerospace required; automotive-only does not fit)
- Strong Nastran (linear/non-linear static & dynamic) and LS-DYNA skills
- Solid calculation/analysis experience on CFRP composite and metallic structures
- Composite failure criteria, fatigue & damage tolerance, CMH-17, AC 20-107B
- Fluent English (Japanese a plus)
