Location requirement

You must already be living in Japan with valid work authorization. We are not sponsoring relocation or visa transfers from overseas for this role. Applications from outside Japan will not be considered.

Context

We are supporting a Japanese luxury experiential travel company based in Tokyo, founded around a decade ago, with roughly fifty employees. Company-wide adoption of AI agents is their number one strategic priority, with internal and external MCP servers currently being built on top of their in-house CRM.

The role exists because the strategy needs someone to land it inside the business. It sits close to the ground, with a direct line to leadership.

The role

  • Analyze each department's business flows and define the AI transformation strategy
  • Design, specify and industrialize AI skills, meaning agent capabilities
  • Design prompts and workflows
  • Scope requirements and write specifications with the AI engineers
  • Design how the internal and external MCP platform is used
  • Measure the impact of AI rollouts and drive continuous improvement
  • Manage stakeholders across leadership, business units and engineering

What we are looking for

  • You already live in Japan with valid work authorization
  • 3+ years in product management
  • Track record on business process improvement projects
  • Hands-on knowledge of LLMs and AI agents
  • Prompt engineering
  • Comfortable working alongside engineering teams
  • Data analysis and numbers-driven decision making
  • Business-level Japanese expected. English is a plus.
  • Nice to have: MCP, LangChain, CrewAI, CRM or SFA rollouts, travel or hospitality sector, startup PM experience

Practical details

  • Permanent full-time contract (正社員), 3-month probation with no salary change
  • ¥8,000,000 to ¥10,000,000 per year, base and 45 hours of fixed overtime included, depending on experience
  • Tokyo, Shibuya area, on-site with partial remote
  • Flexible hours, core time 10:00–15:00, average 20 to 30 overtime hours per month
  • 120 days off per year, 5-day week, paid leave granted on joining
