Hybrid UX/UI Designer, design and front-end development with AI tools, legaltech startup, Montréal (hybrid)

Abbeal is hiring a hybrid UX/UI designer, part design and part development, for a fast-growing Montréal AI startup. Permanent role, hired directly by the client.

Context

Our client is a fast-growing Montréal AI startup. Its product is already adopted by its customers, and the team is now launching a new project that aims to reshape the legal sector as a whole.

Above all, it's a great team: small, highly innovative, with an excellent atmosphere. Things move fast, people talk openly and you work directly with the founders.

The role

• Design the user journeys and interfaces of the new product: user research, wireframes, prototypes, design system.
• Test your ideas directly with legal professionals.
• Prototype and ship in code with AI tools (Figma to code, Cursor, Claude Code…).
• Contribute directly to the front end alongside the development team.
• Design clear interfaces for AI features (agents, assistants).

What we're looking for

• You are a UX/UI designer who genuinely codes: React and TypeScript don't scare you, and you're keen to build.
• AI tools are part of your everyday workflow.
• You have a portfolio of shipped products that people actually use.
• You enjoy small teams that iterate fast with the founders.
• You are fluent in French and English.
• Experience with complex B2B products or in the legal sector is a plus.
